Drop in at my house. I dare you.
Unless you call ahead, someone will be naked. Even then the odds are pretty good that you'll see someone streaking. If you're lucky, it won't be the big guy.
And oh yeah..while you're here, remember..don't eat the cookies.
I purposefully didn't put Quinn down for a nap on Christmas Eve because I needed her to go to bed earlier than usual.
This was not ok with her.
Wearing her christmas jammies over top of her clothes and with her new hat and mitts on, she climbed into the laundry basket and fell asleep.
Quinn loves naptime. Bedtime not so much.
Q's nephew Andrew spent a few days with us over Christmas. Eloise just loooves Andrew.
On the right is my brother in law Allan. He and Emily also spent lots of time with us over the holidays.
The first morning that Andrew was gone, Elly got up in the morning and said, "I'm going to go wake up Andwew now!!"
Me: He's not here anymore.
Elly with a big pouty lip: He's not hewe?
Me: Nope.
She turns and leaves the room knuckles dragging.
And here's Elly with Emily. Elly and Em share a family name - Emily Patricia and Eloise Patricia, and they're named after my Mum Millicent Patricia.
Why do the pictures of our guests all feature Elly? Because she's a lovey, and if you're here she wants to be in your lap cuddling and chatting.
We had lots of visitors. Christmas Eve I made dinner for my brother and sisters and their families. I love that tradition. It's lots of work, but totally worth it. Wish Mum and Dad weren't out of town this year.
Another tradition, and my least favourite of all....staying up half the night wrapping and putting things together!
It probably wouldn't take so long if Q wasn't passed out on the couch the entire time!
Seriously, every year for as long as I can remember! He saw this picture and asked hurt, "Why did you put the cushion over my face?" For the record, I did not put the cushion over his face. He got entangled with the couch completely of his own accord.
Fun story:
I lost the keys to the car. Or rather, I have been accused of losing the keys to the car! For months! I was the last to use them which I fully admit, but I swear I put them on the counter! So I've been in the doghouse for awhile and forced to drive my big truck to my job downtown every day and park in a spot that was definitely not meant for a truck such as mine while my pretty little car sat in the driveway buried under feet of snow. I spent HOURS and HOURS over days and weeks and months looking for this key - the only key - with no luck.
So Christmas Eve..1am..I need a screwdriver to finish putting Quinn's kitchen together. Can't find it. I start looking for it and within minutes I have NOT found the screw driver, but I HAVE found that elusive car key!! And where was it? In my office FILED with papers in a file holder.
PEOPLE. WHY WOULD I PUT IT THERE?? FOUL PLAY. I WAS FRAMED!
So I wrapped that sucker up and put it under the tree for Q. He was pleased :)
And finally,
Christmas night the adults challenged the kids to a Just Dance battle.
I won..but who's keeping track??

Great post Sara.
