Invitations from a few years ago when Charlie (oldest) had a Barbie themed birthday party:
A gorgeous personalized invitation made by her graphic designer Mommy.
Elly just turned 5 and chose to have a Barbie themed party. Did she get a one of a kind Mommy original?? Unfortunately, she got hand written note cards from Dollarama sent out a mere 3 days before the party. I had the best of intentions, but couldn't make it happen.
For Charlie's birthday I stayed up late the night before hand making this Barbie cake especially for my baby:
I may be creative, but I've got NOOO SKILLZ in the kitchen. This cake with all it's curly q's and details was quite a labour of love for me.
Elly's Barbie cake was purchased. Beautiful, but the only effort put into it by me was writing the cheque.
And here's some irony - while I sit here writing this post (at work..don't tell my boss) I get a text from the babysitter:
Elly says, looking at pictures on the fireplace: Know what picture I HATE?? This one with Charlie and mom because I love mom so much.
Mark my words, there will be a picture of me and Elly on the fireplace by the end of the day!

Oh Sara...I hear where you are coming from. Good for you, getting on that picture on the mantle. What a good mommy!

I say, on behalf of middle children everywhere, "it's not fair!!!"
