I was read by a psychic once and the first thing she told me was that my energy was very anxious..."like a cartoon cat" with it's back and tail up, walking on its tip toes and it's fur drawn in jagged lines.
Imagine what I'm like when my baby boy is in goal.
I can hardly sit still.
I refuse to bark commands at kids from the stands so I sit there muttering to myself like a crazy person.."get it out! get it out of his crease!!" Then someone gets a break away and they're barrelling toward him. The hair on my arms is standing on end and my butt is hovering over my seat. (It's no wonder I've never been able to break into the Hockey Mom Clique...I'm a bit of a crazy lady.)
Sometimes he saves, sometimes he doesn't but without fail whatever the outcome he looks up at me in the stands for encouragement.
I was trying to get a picture of him making a save in yesterday's tournament game, but it came out like this:
When I showed him, he said very matter of factly, "Oh, that's because I'm just too fast."
I did catch him right after the save with perfect clarity :/ Go figure.
You can see the puck he saved down by his knee.
He played awesome that game, and was awarded Player of the Game.
Very proud of himself indeed :)
As always, our winter is jam packed full of hockey which the girls and I muscle through. Charlie is quick to remind Max from time to time of the tremendous sacrifice she is making for him.
We've also made time to go skating on the outdoor rink a bunch of times so far. Max loves that he's the pro who gets to show all us ladies how it's done. He's even faster than Mom so naturally his favourite game to play with us is chase.
I can get going pretty fast, but I don't know how to stop!
He can be pretty condescending with his head starts, "Mom, you can have a 5 second head start. Charlie....you can haaaaave 20 seconds!" The sad part is he still beats us :)
This time was Elly's first time on skates! She did pretty good!
There are no pictures of Charlie I just realized..she got a blister so took her skates off and entertained herself with the camera.
They've been bugging me to go again since Christmas. It's so nice out again we just might have a New Year's Eve skating party tomorrow :)

These photos are awesome! Nice work Char
